Positive Action for Anna Maria City
Thanks, Duke, for creating a place for residents of our island city to soundoff concerns and share positive ideas about what is happening to our city. We must be vigilant because others are just waiting for an opportunity to take over and change our lovely unique spot.

Thank you. And you're right about the vigilance. They have a plan, and it doesn't include us. They purport to be recreating the initial vision of the pioneers. Bull. They have no regard for the fact that those of us who gravitated to Anna Maria did so for what it is, which, for the most part, is what it was decades ago. This is my 52nd year here, and often people say to me, "You must have seen a lot of changes?" The answer is not as many as people think. But I do remember when Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach were very similar to Anna Maria. When we initially came here, there was only one bridge, and you couldn't discern when you went from one city to the other. We must make sure the hideous elements of the cities to our south don't migrate to this side of our city limit sign!!
